Putting to good use 30+ years of professional experience to work for you.

What is your life's work anyway?

Here are a few thoughts for you to take into consideration

YP What do you want? More importantly, what do you dream about doing? What are you passionate about? Many think that the two (passion and career) cannot go hand-in-hand, but they are mistaken. The actual fact is, they must go hand-in-hand if you want to perform at your best. Think about it, no really, think about it.

YT Everyone is born with their own unique natural talents. Mozart had a specific talent for music. What about you? What's yours? Keep in mind, your natural talents are largely based in your genetics. However, there's more... see if you can figure out how Mozart was able to do what he did. Clue: Genetics and what else?

YC Most everyone get up and go to work whether it's by choice or by need. Some people tell me that they do not want to mix their interests with their work. However, which would you rather be doing everyday, what you love or what you need to do so that you can go home and do what you love? It's a matter of common sense.

How does one go about discovering one's passions?

First of all, you must try out, or at least, look into many different career paths. If all that you know is limited, then your options are limited. If you find something that you are interested in, talk with others already in that field. Get to know as much as you can, even if you need to volunteer your time there. Remember, the more you know, the wiser you are, the greater your options will be.

How does one open doors for oneself?

I once encountered a young man seeking work in a small mom and pop establishment (Yes, there are some still around - M&Ps businesses). The young man came in the business asking for work. Since there was no positions available, he put his head down and started to walk toward to the door. I spoke up asking him what his interests are. He replied, custom fabrication. So I advised him to seek out local fabricators, asking to sweep the floors if necessary, with the promise to being trained. But, to also let them know that fabrication is his passion! In-other-words, do whatever you need to do in order to get a foot in the door of your interests/passions.

Be useful to everyone, especially if it's doing what you want to be doing. Seek, ask questions, keep learning and never give up!

Do what others are unwilling to do, especially if it's doing what you want to be doing. Too many others give up when things get difficult.

Doing what you love to be doing, means that you will be more productive than someone who is there because it's a job.
